Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show wrote “Wagon Wheel” based on an unfinished chorus from a Bob Dylan outtake from 1973. It was released on Old Crow Medicine Show’s self-titled debut album in 2004.
I first heard the song in around 2010 when I was learning to play guitar. My instructor, Sam Corbin brought the lyrics and chord chart and told me that it was popular in the folk music community.
