#22 - Computer World - Kraftwerk

In college, during a math and science field day trip to Michigan State University, while be-bopping around town after lunch, I bought this album in convience store near campus that also sold used CDs. Not having heard of Kraftwerk before, but intrigued by everything about it, I purchased it and I’m glad I did. It was a great introduction to the band. After acquiring the album, I went home and learned more about them and discovered how influencial they were, especially to the early rap and hip hop scene. Many DJs sampled Kraftwerk albums. Sir Mix A Lot sampled “Numbers” on his track “Rippin’” as well as other usages.

I was fortunate enough to see Kraftwerk perform live in 2005 in Detroit before Florian left the band.
